I work in a variety of mediums because life is too short for limits.
My background allows me to bring a painterly attitude to any material.
Color is the foundation of my work in all mediums. After color the story emerges.
I am exploring surface possibilities and the abstracted elements of the digitized photo to arrive at an image that has tactile depth. This has resulted in a new journey of intaglio monoprinting. An etched plastic plate becomes another layer of the image from the finished photo print. It was my goal to explore this during three weeks of intensive work in the studios of master printmaker, Mauro Corbani, www.maruocorbani.com located in Scarlino, (GR), Italy in September of 2009.
